Biography
Bob Mills, of Reno, Nevada is flying a Super Glasair III, nicknamed “Mojo”. Sport 47 is powered by a Lycon-built, Twin Turbocharged, Lycoming TIO-580 engine, that generates an estimated 700 horsepower! Bob has also raced a Thunder Mustang and an RV Super Six in the Sport Class, and has raced an L-39 in the Reno Jet Class. Bob is a B-737 Captain for Southwest Airlines, and a retired Navy Captain, with 30 years of Active Duty and Reserve service. He flew the F-14A Tomcat, was an instructor in the TA-4J Skyhawk, and served overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Bob has 40 years of flying experience, including over 20,000 hours as a military, air ambulance, corporate, and airline pilot, in more than 60 varied aircraft types. He is a CFI, enjoys racing in the Sport Air Racing League and Airventure Cup, and is a formation airshow performer.
