www.bluethunderairracing.com The 2013 Reno Championship air races are in the history books and the Blue Crew must congratulate Jeff LaVelle for his outstanding work and the win in the Sport Gold race. Putting the best spin on second place being the first loser, the Blue Crew is proud of our performance in taking second in the Gold at respectable speeds of 390 and change MPH. Though 390+ was not quite enough to win, it is all we had and we were quite consistent all week long.

Reno 2013 – A Report from Race 99 by Karen Morss www.DaveMorss.com Me: What time are you leaving tomorrow, Dave? Dave: Wheels up, 7am. Me: Isn’t that a little early? Dave: Are you kidding me? There are seven planes there already. And so began our trip to Stead, Nevada for the 50th National Championship Air Races. This year had been fraught with challenges. But you know what they say, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. We were thrilled just to be going. And especially honored by the story in the program, ‘A Racer and his Wife’.
