Featuring Multiple Heats of Sport Class Air Racing Aircraft
The 2025 Las Cruces Air Races will again be a part of the 3rd Annual Las Cruces Air and Space Expo. This year this exciting aviation event will be held at the Las Cruces Airport (KLRU), from October 22-26, 2025.
For racers, there will be Course Differences Training and warm-up on Friday (the Airshow Rehearsal Day), and Air Racing on Saturday and Sunday, the two Airshow Days.

In-Brief and LRU Area Brief (those needing course difference training)
Thu, Oct 23, 2025: Warm up flights for those needing Course Differences Training
Arrivals at KRLU for all remaining racers

Fri, Oct 24, 2025: Course Differences Training and Race Warm-up Qualifying
Sat, Oct 25, 2025: Air Races and Airshow
Sun, Oct 26, 2025: Air Races and Airshow

The Las Cruces Air Race will be open to entry by all current Sport Class Air Racing pilots, as follows:
- Pilots must hold a 2025 Sport Class Air Racing
- Pilots must have attended PRTC in Las Cruces in May 2025, or
- Pilots must have attended PRS in Roswell in May 2025
- Pilots that attended only PRS in Roswell must complete Course Differences Training
- Pilots that did not attend either 2025 PRTC or 2025 PRS, but raced in Las Cruces in 2024 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Pilots in this category must complete Course Differences Training
- Approval to allow this category of pilot to race in 2025 is pending FAA approval
NOTE: SARC Las Cruces Air Race applications are completed via our Groups.io, Racers and Owners Subgroup site. Once you are a member of that group, you will be able to view the application instructions.
NOTE: The Las Cruces Air Race application process is initiated with a Welcome Letter from the SARC President, and will contain additional information and instructions. That Welcome letter will be forwarded from the Sport Class President to all eligible racers (Certified and Rookie)
